Michigan recycler buys 10 trucks of PET scrap in Fla. muni sale
HOUSTON, November 2, 2018 (PCW) -- Clean Tech Inc, a large recycler of PET and HDPE plastic based in Dundee, MI, was the winner bidder for 10 truckloads (about 420,000 lbs) of clear and green curbside PET bottles and containers packaged in bales at 17.5 cpp at a Florida municipality Nov scrap bid offering sale, the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County announced this week.
The price was up 2.5 cpp from PET curbside bale business seen in Oct in Southeast and Midwest markets.
SWA's monthly bale sales are price markers used by PET recyclers (reclaimers) and bale sellers, including MRFs (materials recovery facilities), for contract and spot business in many US areas east of the Rockies.
Clean Tech recycles more than 3 billion plastic bottles/year, according to its website.
Clean Tech was also the winner bidder of three truckloads of HDPE natural (dairy) curbside bales, at 42.1 cpp, while the SWA sold three truckloads of HDPE curbside mixed colors curbside bales at 18.99 cpp to Plastic Revolutions, a recycler based in Reidsville, NC.
