INVISTA plans $1-billion adiponitrile (ADN) plant in China

HOUSTON, August 9, 2018 (PCW)--Chemical intermediates giant INVISTA plans to build an ADN plant in China at a cost of about $1-billion, the company said on Wednesday in a press release. Production is expected to begin in 2023. ADN is used to produce nylon polymers, fibers and specialty materials, including hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) used for coatings. -- Xavier A Cronin
